Create your vault

One account holds every document you own and every share you issue. Setup takes about two minutes and nothing is filled in for you.

Legal name Surname(s) first, then a comma, then given name(s) — e.g. Rosas Guzmán, Valeria. As printed on the document. Leave it blank and add it later from Settings.

Email address Used to sign in, and to tell you when someone opens one of your shares. Never shown to a recipient.

Passphrase Enter a passphrase

Six random words beat one clever substitution. Dossier will not judge you for writing it down.

Where do you currently live? Only used to pre-select a field template in step 3. You will add every other country you hold documents from.

There is no password reset

A vault that can be unlocked from your inbox is a vault anyone who owns your inbox can unlock. Dossier keeps no way to reset your passphrase, so a reset link would be a backdoor with a friendlier name. Instead, the next step gives you a recovery kit. Keep it and you are never locked out. Lose both it and your passphrase, and the data is gone, including for us.

I understand that losing both my passphrase and my recovery kit means losing the vault.
